As president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America 2006 to 2018, Cecile Richards led a movement that has worked for nearly a century to build a healthier and safer world for women, men, and young people. Every year, over 650 Planned Parenthood health centers provide health care services to 2.5 million patients. Before joining Planned Parenthood, Ms. Richards served as deputy chief of staff for House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. In 2004, she founded and served as president of America Votes, a coalition of 42 national grassroots organizations working to maximize registration, education, and voter participation.
