Megan Lundstrom became pregnant at 18. Instead of going off to college on the full-ride scholarship she received, she married her child’s father. After having her second child, she escaped the abusive alcoholic her husband had become. Financially and emotionally vulnerable, she was seduced by a charismatic man promising love but who turned out to be a pimp. Forced by him into “the life,” Ms. Lundstrom was threatened with violence when she tried to leave him. She finally escaped in 2012 and has since earned a BS in Finance and founded Free Our Girls, an organization using groundbreaking research to serve those in the process of finding their freedom. A writer, consultant, and steering committee member for Larimer County’s CSEC High-Risk Intervention Team, Ms. Lundstrom dedicates her life’s work to preventing and responding to commercial sexual exploitation.
